Night market always can be related to a wide array of street food called xiaochi meaning ”small eats” or finger foods was on offer with a selection of common snacks and more exotic options. Stinky tofu seemed very popular and as the name implies you can smell it a mile off!

NTNU(National Taiwan Normal University) or Shida night market is bordered by Roosevelt Road, Heping East Road section 1, Taishun Road, Shida Road, and Xinhai Road, and is located primarily along Longquan Road, Pucheng Street, Shida Rd Lane 39, and Shida Road, starting in the west at Roosevelt Road and running east along Heping East Road to Lishui Street.

The NTNU NM primarily provides food and drink for local students, and because of the university’s large population of foreign and overseas Chinese students, boasts a particularly wide selection of foreign fare, including foods from Britain, Italy, the Americas, Japan, Korea, Europe and Thailand. 

Besides that, it is also thanks to its location near the sprawling NTNU, this night market has a youthful energetic, and is well known for its multicultural attracts creative businesses.

The NM NTNU is known for its multi-ethnic food and atmosphere, and offers a wide variety of coffee, clothing and accessories, gifts, full service restaurants and vendors selling a wide range of goods hand and making the area a cultural hot spot .



Ximending Night Market

Ximending in the Wanhua District where the lights shine bright and every other person was riding a bike! In comparison to Shida and Shilin night markets Ximending had a more modern feeling and definitely seemed to be catering to a younger crowd.Ximending attracts over 3 million people every month on average and has been called the “Harajuku” of Taipei (a fashionable shopping district in Tokyo) famed for the diversity of entertainment and activities on offer.
