The Great Chinese Wall, China

The Great Chinese Wall, China

The Great Chinese Wall

For all residents and foreigners in the country, the Great Wall of China was and is a symbol for China to be.
At the entrance of the renovated part of it is the inscription of Mao Zedong: "If you're not on the Great Wall of China - you're not a real Chinese."
The Wall - is one of the largest and most experienced architectural and engineering facilities in the world. It stretches from the desert, Liaodong Bay, northeast of Beijing on the North China in the Gobi.
Data differ along their length and varied. The distance from one end to the other is 2450 km, but if you keep the waste of its other walls, you get 6000-6500 miles. The Great Wall runs across the border from China, but it is a protected area and only a few parts of it are open to the public. One such place is Badaling Pass, the second - Juyong Pass, they are both close to Beijing.
His current appearance of the wall is the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, the tombs of which are nearby. In many ways it was only set up again, replaced by mounds of bricks and stones, reliable equipment.
Towers 12 meters high, sustained winds and bad weather have survived to our days. Even with their locations in case of enemy attack alarm signal went through the lights at night, and smoke signals during the day. Some parts of this wall have been reconstructed, the old historic feel and look new with a spectacular show of this marvel, built by human hands.
The Great Wall was built as a defensive line to protect the Chinese Empire from enemies. Old people say: "If you protect the gate, 10,000 soldiers will not go then."
